Dear students,

Due to an internal event of the Faculty, the WiSo-Student Service has to cancel the personal consultation hours from 10-12 p.m. on 21 June 2017. We will offer our telephone consultation hour from 12-1 p.m. as well as the personal consultation hours in the afternoon from 2-4 p.m. as usual.
Furthermore, on Thursday 22 June 2017, the personal consultation hours in the afternoon will be shortened from 2-3 p.m. The WiSo Student Service will take part in the “Langer Abend der Beratung”. Of course, you are very welcome to attend this event and meet us there between 4-8 p.m.

UEFA Europa League, die größten Erfolge seit 25 Jahren, Nationalspieler, Rekordumsatz und eine ganze Region hinter sich – der 1. FC Köln ist die Überraschung der letzten Jahre. Geschäftsführer Alexander Wehrle ist seit 2013 dafür mitverantwortlich und verlängerte erst kürzlich seinen Vertrag bis 2023.

You are interested in an intercultural study experience and would like to earn up to 12 CP during the summer break? Become a part of CISU 2017! CISU takes place from 7-31 August (Session 1: 7-17 August, Session 2: 21-31 August). Participation is free for all students enrolled at the WiSo Faculty.

We show you how to manufacture new products out of old clothes. Sign up for one of our workshops to make your grandmother’s blouse into stylish summer shorts or a practical gym bag. No prior knowledge is necessary and all crucial material will be provided by us. Still, if you have any shirts or blouses you want to reuse, feel free to bring them with you! the student initiative oikos invites all students to the following event:

August, 4-11 2017, near Erfurt (Germany): A summer of economics: 9 workshops, 90 participants, 20 lecturers. One week of eye-opening and engaging learning.
 
We live in times of unrest. Climate change, the crisis of the EU, the rise of right-wing populism, youth unemployment, concentration of wealth, tax evasion – today’s world is in a mess.
These challenges are closely linked to our economy. But instead of offering fresh ideas, many economists are still occupied with well-known topics like growth, productivity, or efficiency. The really pressing questions, though, remain unanswered: finite resources, inequality, power structures, or concepts of a good life.
We want to change this. This is why we organise “Exploring Economics,” a summer academy for pluralist economics. We want to bring people with different backgrounds and perspectives together for an in-depth exchange on the future of economics. The world is too diverse a place to allow one way of thinking, one view, one approach, to reflect the thoughts and feelings of the many.
As a participant, you will join one of nine workshops and engage in one school of economic thought or an economic topic in detail. During open spaces and evening lectures, you will broaden your view and be able to interact with those from other workshops. The detailed schedule will be published very soon.
The summer academy is a joint project of Netzwerk Plurale Ökonomik and Evangelische Akademie Thüringen.
