Studies Abroad

As a student at the WiSo Faculty in Cologne you have numerous possibilities of gaining international experience. You will benefit from studying abroad both professionally and personally. It will give you valuable experience in terms of your chosen field of study, cultural awareness and language – without having to extend your studies.

The ZIB WiSo office website provides information for students at the WiSo Faculty on the possibilities of making their studies more internationally oriented.

Students interested in an exchange term can apply for a single-term, tuition-free stay abroad at one of the partner universities of the WiSo Faculty through the Study Abroad Programme (STAP). The Freemover programme allows students to organise studies abroad themselves, independent of university exchange programmes.

For students who prefer a short stay abroad, the WiSo Faculty offers bachelor and master students the possibility to apply for the WiSo@NYC  programme, a six-week summer programme in New York City. There is also a choice of further Summer Schools und short programmes, for shorter stays abroad. Students can also get together with international students at the Cologne International Summer University (CISU).

The Double Masters Programmes in Business Administration and Political Sciences provide the possibility for completing two master degrees from two universities.

This website also provides information on courses offered by the WiSo Faculty in Business English as well as on the 'Buddy Programme' which encourages exchange with international students in Cologne.

Further information on how to make your studies more international generally can also be found on the website of the  Central International Office.
