Event note: Seminar "Challenges of climate policy“

The Institute for Economic Policy at the University of Cologne, together with the Hanns Martin Schleyer Foundation and the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation, offers students the opportunity to participate in the university seminar " Dialog junge Wissenschaft und Praxis (Dialogue: Young Science and Practice)". This year's event will take place from 12th to 14th June 2024 at Haus Marienhof in Königswinter and is dedicated to the topic of "Challenges of climate policy".

Students will have the opportunity to meet six invited, renowned speakers in an informal atmosphere and discuss economic policy developments outside of the daily university routine. Bachelor students can earn 6 credit points in the seminar as part of their Studium Integrale. Binding registration is possible until 5th May 2024. The event will mostly be held in German. Save the date: Graduation ceremony on 29th June 2024

Dear (future) graduates of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences,

finally we can announce a date: The graduation ceremony will take place on 29th June 2024 in the assembly hall of the main building. Afterwards there will be a sparkling wine reception.

We will organize a festive event, during which you can celebrate your graduation with family and friends!

We will inform you about the cohort that is eligible to participate as soon as possible!

How should I pay for it? – Lecture and Q&A session

What?

Before and at the beginning of their studies, students who perform well to very well and are socially committed can consider scholarships as financial and non-material support.
The lecture will discuss the requirements and opportunities. For this option, our focus is on the 13 organisations for the promotion of gifted students and the Deutschlandstipendium.

When and where?

The information event will take place on Thursday, 18th April 2024, 2:00-3:00pm in lecture hall XXIV in the Wiso building.

No registration is required.

Register now for the second Sustainability Forum

Dear members of the University of Cologne, 

The second Sustainability Forum will take place on 22 April 2024 under the guiding theme "Planetary Responsibility - Sustainability as an Ethical Issue in an Interdisciplinary Context."

With a series of lectures, a panel discussion, and opportunities for dialogue and networking, it offers a space in which new perspectives can be opened up across disciplines and between all status groups at the university. The question of the practical implementation of the sustainability strategy is also a topic of the forum.

The forum is open to all status groups at the University of Cologne and is aimed at everyone within the university who is interested in more sustainability in the fields of research, teaching, transfer, and campus operations. 

Among others, WiSo Professor Dr. Axel Ockenfels will give a keynote speech on the topic of "Doing good better: climate protection in science and practice."
