Career Tuesday Career Prospects Social Sciences

In our Career Tuesday in cooperation with WiSo-Alumni, you will find out how former Social Sciences graduates got into professional life, which challenges they have mastered and which further professional perspectives have opened up on the way there.

Agnes Wojtacki studied social sciences as well as sociology and empirical social research. After working as a research assistant at GESIS - Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences and at the Dean's Office of the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne, she took over the leadership of the Competence Center for Women & Occupation Region Cologne in October 2019. Here, together with her team, she develops projects to support small and medium-sized enterprises in order to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. Workshops, seminars and events in different formats give impetus to topics such as work-life balance, female recruiting and flexible working hours as important factors in employer branding. Competentia Region Cologne also networks companies with regional labour market players, provides individual advice on aspects of life-phase-oriented personnel policy, and provides mentoring for the professional integration of qualified refugee women in small and medium-sized companies.
