Honoring his engagement for European integration

We are happy and congratulate Professor Dr. Wolfgang Wessels, director of the Centre for Turkey and European Union Studies (CETEUS) and holder of an 'Ad Personam' Jean Monnet Chair for European Politics: He was awarded in Prague with the yearly given „Vision for Europe“ Award of the Prague European Summit.

The award „Vision for Europe“ is annually bestowed to distinguished personalities who have, in the course of their lives, devoted substantial energies to the establishment and development of European ideals. This includes strengthening peaceful cooperation among European nations, developing a fair institutional arrangement of European integration, making European integration more accessible to European publics, and overcoming prejudices and misconceptions related to the integration process. The awarding ceremony is part of the annual Prague European Summit, and it is accompanied by a “European Vision” speech, delivered by the awardee.

Our Heritage:

WiSo was founded in 1901 as a School of Commerce. Since then, it has extended its scope to Economics, Sociology, and Politics. Now, we have over a century of experience in the education of new generations of business professionals, economists, sociologists, and political experts. During this time, we have developed a tradition of close dialogue with our stakeholders and have focused on scientific research that is relevant to the corporate world, to economic policy, and to society at large. We are located in the heart of Europe, in a city that has been a centre of international trade and commerce for over two thousand years.
