Professor Christoph Rosenkranz at the CERES conference for Digital Transformation

Christoph Rosenkranz hosted a discussion about the future of digitized work on stage

Dr. Christoph Rosenkranz, Professor of computer science and integrated information systems at the Cologne Faculty of Management and Social Sciences hosted a discussion on stage at the Ceres conference for Digital Transformation. The discussion themed the future of digitized work and the challenges business and enterprises are facing with future digitized work processes.

Digitization changes the requirements for employees and employers alike.
Automation and dematerialization of services call old working models into questions and require new skills . Companies need to act globally and create attractive working conditions locally. Prof. Dr. Christoph Rosenkranz led expertly by the panel discussion and gave representatives from the audience possibilities to speak as well.

Dr. Oliver Stettes of the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft left open whether old employment processes remain. Work needs to be efficient  re-organized. Timm Peters, Chairman of the Digital Analytics Group reminded the audience that a good management needs intellectual and emotional intelligence equally to set the right course for processes in collaborative mode. Digital Controlling is an important part in corporate governance in the future. Dr. Constanze Kurz, head of the department ` Future of Arbeit` IG Metall reported from the field of technical assistance systems used by Bosch Rexroth. The digital world of work must be designed on a human scale, so that assistance systems are a relief and not lead to excessive control and glassy employees.

The discussion with the audience quickly showed the central thesis of the future of digitized work: education and training. There is an urgent need to create new concepts to impart basic skills early in schools and universities, to enable further development and provide even low-skilled workers with the necessary know -how to succeed in complex crosslinked work. "This is a complex issue we have to deal with", so it was agreed.

The CERES conference provided valuable input for visitors and stakeholders concerning the design of digitization in private companies, education and society and brought successful solutions from research and practice in line.
