ECC-Payment-Study about biometric authentication of payment transactions

The imagination of payment transactions authentication with fingerprint is no science fiction anymore for German consumers - rather an interesting alternative to major payment methods. The ECC-Payment-Study in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Malte Krüger were able to show that two third of the consumers could imagine to pay their shopping with biometric identifying characteristics.

About the ECC-Payment-Study
For the “ECC-Payment-Study Vol. 20 – Der Internetzahlungsverkehr aus Sicht der Händler und Verbraucher” the data of 1.877 consumers in December 2015 are used. The consumers are divided in 883 consumers from Germany, 500 from Austria and 494 from Swiss. Furthermore, a survey was conducted with 394 German online-dealer from November 2015 – January 2016.
