Begrüßung neuer Professorin: Nadja Klein beim Dekan der WiSo-Fakultät

Since the beginning of April 2018, Jun. Prof. Dr. Nadja Klein is holding a Chair of Statistics at the University of Cologne.

Nadja Klein's research interests are Bayesian Statistics, Computational Methods, Machine Learning, Distributional Regression, Smoothing Methods, Copula Modelling, Shrinkage Priors and Variable Selection. Previously, she was an Alexander von Humboldt Feodor Lynen Fellow at the Melbourne Business School and working at the Chair of Statictics and Economics at the Georg August University of Göttingen. In 2016 Nadja Klein was appointed a lifetime member of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

For her doctorate on "Bayesian Generalized Additive Models for Location Scale and Shape" she was awarded the Wolfgang Wetzel Award of the German Statistical Society for outstanding young scientists. In 2014 she also received the dissertation prize of the University of Göttingen. In her dissertation, Nadja Klein dealt with complex statistical modelling methods, examining the necessary theoretical foundations, developing software and demonstrating its applicability in several empirical analyses.
