Conrad Ziller receives study prize

Dissertation: “Social Trust in the Face of Ethnic Diversity”

The Körber Foundation has chosen the most important dissertations in the past year. Dr. Conrad Ziller, researcher at the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology (ISS), receives one of the second prizes of the German study prizes for his dissertation “Social Trust in the Face of Ethnic Diversity: The Moderating Role of Economic, Cultural, and Political Contexts”.

With the German study prize, the Körber Foundation under the auspices of Norbert Lammert, President of the German Bundestag, honours excellent dissertations with a particular high societal relevance. The doctoral thesis of Conrad Ziller examines if immigration weakens the social trust in Europe and the role of economic, cultural and political conditions. Conrad Ziller did his doctorate between 2011 and 2015 at the Research Training Group “Social Order and Life Chances in Cross-National Comparison” (SOCLIFE) of the University of Cologne. By now, he is a research assistant at the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology (Chair of Empirical Social and Economic Research, Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Andreß).
