Studying abroad gives students valuable experience in terms of their chosen field of study, cultural awareness and language learning. The Cologne WiSo Faculty offers its students numerous possibilities of gaining international experience without having to extend their studies.
Students interested in an exchange term can apply for a single-term, tuition-free stay at one of the WiSo Faculty's partner universities through the Study Abroad Programmes STAP Bachelor and STAP Master. The freemover programme allows students to organise studies abroad themselves, irrespective of university exchange programmes.
Students who prefer a shorter stay abroad can apply for the WiSo@NYC programme, a six-week summer programme in New York City. There is also a choice of further summer schools und short programmes, as well as the short programme Sociology in Utrecht for Sociology students. Students can also get together with international students at the Cologne International Summer University (CISU). The Double Master's Programmes in Business Administration, European Studies, Health Economics and Management, and Demography and Social Inequality offer the possibility of completing two master's degrees from two universities at the same time.
This website also provides information on courses in Business English offered by the WiSo Faculty as well as the 'Buddy Programme' which encourages exchange with international students in Cologne. Further information on how to make your studies more international can also be found on the website of the Central International Office.
