In cooperation with the Aalto University

Double Master's Programme in Business Administration: Cologne–Helsinki

The Aalto University School of Business is the leading business school in Finland and among Europe's top universities in this field. It is well known for its excellent research, its close ties with industry and its open and international atmosphere.

Aalto is a member of CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education) and the international PIM network (Partnership in International Management). In 1998 Aalto became one of the first European business schools to receive EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation.

The Double Master's Programme offered by the University of Cologne and the Aalto University School of Business is based on the assumption that Finland and Germany will be facing similar challenges over the next decades due to the structure of their economies and social systems. The high cost of labour relative to emerging markets means that value chains will have to be transformed and become more innovative and knowledge-driven. In addition, both countries play a key role in the process of European integration. While Finland acts as a door opener in the Baltic region, Germany functions as a motor and driving force of integration in an expanded Europe.

Programme structure

The programme is integrated into the Master's degree programmes in Business Administration at the University of Cologne and the Master's degree programmes at Aalto University School of Business in Helsinki and incorporates courses from both.
