Welcome at the WiSo Faculty, Tom Zimmermann

Chair of Applied Econometrics

Since April 2018 Tom Zimmermann is working as a junior professor at the WiSo Faculty. His research interests are applied macroeconomics, behavioral and empirical finance and data science.

Tom Zimmermann studied economics in Bonn and Berkeley and subsequently earned his doctorate at Harvard. In his dissertation he mainly dealt with machine learning and Behavioural Economics in financial markets. Afterwards, he worked for two years at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC, in the capital markets area, investigating the influence of banks on the real economy, among other things.

In the spring term, he will teach econometrics and machine learning for economists in the Master's programme at our Faculty.
