They have done it and now they have been rewarded: On 11 January 2020, in the auditorium of the main building of the University of Cologne, the ceremonial presentation of the certificates for the Bachelor and Master graduates of the WiSo-Faculty took place, organized in equal parts by the WiSo student council and the faculty.

After the greeting of the faculty by Dean Ulrich W. Thonemann, the student council, in the person of its chairman Stefan Euler, congratulated the future alumni, doctoral candidates or master students on reaching their (intermediate) goal.

Before the graduates, three lecturers received recognition for special achievements in the past semester: Prof. Dr. Oliver Gürtler from the Department of Political Science, elected by a large majority of the students, won the Albertus Magnus Award of the student council this year.

The Junior Teaching Awards of the Faculty, for the design of excellent courses, were presented by Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Frank Schulz Nieswandt to Dr. Corinna Michels for the course "Bachelor's Seminar Economic Psychology" (category events with up to 50 participants), and to Hartmut Jakob Stenz for the course "Descriptive Statistics and Economic Statistics - Exercise" (more than 50 participants).

Two successful WiSo-Alumni were given the task of looking to the future in the ceremonial speechess of the evening: Marie-Kristin Illigen, Executive and Female Leadership Coach with her own company, spoke to the freshly graduated Bachelors, and Uwe Link, Vice President - HR Regional Business Partner at Deutsche Bank gave a lively lecture to the Masters. Both speakers advised the graduates to stay authentic in their professional lives, cultivate networks and accept challenges. "We hope in you," Marie-Kristin Illigen called out to the future managers.

After the presentation of the certificates, musically accompanied by the triological quartet, the participants went to the dining hall for a festive dinner before the evening came to a close in the traditional party. We wish our graduates all the best and much success for their further professional and personal path!
