Re-accreditation of the WiSo Faculty for 5 years

World-renowned EQUIS accreditation

We are pleased to announce that the WiSo Faculty of the University of Cologne was re-accredited by the EQUIS Accreditation Board on 27 March 2018 and received the world-renowned EQUIS accreditation of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) for the highest possible duration of five years. This confirms the high international quality standard of the faculty in research and teaching. At the moment, only 110 business schools worldwide hold this internationally recognized accreditation with a 5-year duration.

The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences has met the strict requirements of the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) since 2012 and has been a member of the circle of EQUIS-accredited business schools since then. In 2012, the WiSo Faculty was the second state higher education institution in Germany to be awarded the coveted EQUIS seal of approval.

EFMD is recognised as a global accreditation body for business schools and their study programmes. With EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), it created a European accreditation standard as proof of quality in 1997.

Further information on EFMD and EQUIS can be found on our website in the section "Accreditation" and on the EFMD website.
