Radio innovations: On the way to interactive radio

Annual conference 2016 of the Institute for Broadcasting Economics

Hörfunk-Innovationen: Auf dem Weg zum interaktiven Radio, Jahrestagung 2016 des Instituts für Rundfunkökonomie der Universität zu Köln

The combination of traditional radio with Internet leads to innovative treatments: They range from on-demand media libraries to individualised sound broadcasting. Especially in the area of musical programming innovative features and usage variations are implemented with great success (e.g. Spotify or Amazon Prime Music).


The annual conference of the Institute for Broadcasting Economics is focused on the current and pioneering innovations of the text-/language-based radio world (e.g. language features, interviews, messages, audio plays etc.). Along with the conceptional fundamentals, challenges and implications of interactive radio shall be discussed.

Several experts from industry and science will deal with these and many other issues. Furthermore within this framework arises the opportunity to exchange ideas and use the chance to network.
