On 22 May 2019, another important building was opened with the construction of the new Campus North of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Among others, the mayor of Cologne, Elfie Scho-Antwerpes, was a guest.

With funds from the Higher Education Pact, new areas and wokplaces have been created for teachers and students. In addition to a number of research facilities, the new building contains two student service points with a total of 160 workstations or consultant workstations, 84 student learning stations with computer and electricity connections, a PC pool, several seminar rooms, single and double workstations, meeting rooms and several technical and storage rooms.

Architecturally, the new building is based on the existing building designed by the architect Wilhelm Riphahn. Due to its proximity to the listed WiSo building, an architectural competition was announced. The new building is based on the planning of the first prize winner of the architectural office Kister-Scheithauer-Groß (KSG).

Dean Prof. Ulrich Thonemann is convinced: "With the opening of the new building directly next to the main tower of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, we have taken a big step towards our goal of being able to offer various research, teaching and administrative facilities more centrally. This makes the exchange between scientists, students and administrative staff much more efficient and has an even more positive effect on the working atmosphere."
