New Professor for Digital Marketing: André Marchand

Welcome at the WiSo Faculty: Professor André Marchand and Werner Mellis  / Handshake

On June 1, 2017, Professor Dr. André Marchand was appointed to a professorship at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science at the University of Cologne. The dean, Professor Dr. Werner Mellis, welcomed him in the name of the faculty.

Prior to joining the University of Cologne, Professor Marchand was an Assistant Professor at the University of Muenster. In 2016, he successfully finished his habilitation and obtained the Venia Legendi in Business Administration. He completed his doctoral thesis on media marketing in 2011 at the Bauhaus-University Weimar after he had finished his studies of Business Administration at the University of Cologne in 2006.

His research interest and expertise focus on marketing, digital innovations, and new media.

„Digitalization transforms marketing at a remarkable pace. Currently, almost all business units face a digital wave of innovation. As a researcher, these are exciting times,“ says André Marchand and adds: „I am looking forward to continuing my research and to cooperating with my colleagues at the prestigious Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science.“
