New professor at the University of Cologne: Alexia Katsanidou

Welcome by the dean

This week the Dean Prof. Dr. Werner Mellis welcomed Prof. Dr. Alexia Katsanidou at the WiSo Faculty of the University of Cologne.

In June 2018, Professor Katsanidou moved to a professorship for empirical social research at the University of Cologne. At the same time that she was appointed professor at the University of Cologne, she took up her post as scientific director of the Data Archive for the Social Sciences at GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Previously she worked as a research assistant at the University of Essex, the University of London and the University of Southampton. 

Professor Katsanidou´s research areas
Important research areas of Professor Katsanidou in the field of empirical social research include political representation in the EU, European crises, voting behaviour, radicalisation and research data management.
