Begrüßung an der WiSo-Fakultät: Handschlag zwischen Erik Hornung und Werner Mellis

We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Erik Hornung as new Professor at the WiSo-Faculty! Erik Hornung became Professor of Economic History at the University of Cologne in October 2017.

Before moving to Cologne, Erik Hornung was a Professor of Economics with a specialization in quantitative economic history at the University of Bayreuth and held positions at the Max-Planck-Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich. He received his PhD from the LMU Munich in 2012. In his research he focusses on the econometric analysis of long-run development in economic history, i.e. the role of human capital, technological diffusion, and institutional change for long-run growth.
