in the area "science with and for society"

The Institute of Business Education and Vocational Training is currently preparing a proposal for the 2014-15 work-programme of the EU funding line Horizon2020 in the area “Science with and for Society”.
The call is on making science careers more attractive for young people.
The project will foster students’ science competence and will aim for developing students’ positive beliefs and self-beliefs on sciences in order to contribute to students’ positive career aspirations towards science through developing a serious game, which integrates exemplary tasks from fields of scientific practice.  Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger from the Institute of Business  Education and Vocational Training and Prof. Dr. André Bresges from Institute of Physics and its Didactics at the University of Cologne will coordinate the project together.

From 4th to 6th September, a preparatory workshop will take place here in Cologne with partners from Finland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Slovenia. The preparation of the proposal and the workshop is supported by the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of North Rhine-Westphalia through the funding line “Anschubfinanzierung zur Beantragung von EU-Fördermitteln in den Geistes- und Gesellschaftswissenschaften”.
