"Durchstarten und Studieren"

Workshop offers for study orientation

Informationsplakat zu den Sommer/Herbst Workshops

The Student Guidance and Counselling Services of the University of Cologne and the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf jointly offer a series of workshops for prospective students in summer and autumn. To support the study orientation, an innovative group format was redesigned based on the experience of both consulting teams. During the all-day events, participants are informed about the general requirements of a course of study, various subjects and research opportunities, and accompanied in the self-examination of their individual interests and abilities.

The workshops take place in the summer and autumn holidays as well as on other dates in Cologne and Düsseldorf. Invited to participate are pupils who will graduate in 2019 and do not yet know exactly what they would like to study. The workshops are embedded in the long-term study "Durchstarten und Studieren" funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and are accompanied by the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology at the University of Cologne. Over a period of three years, the research project also uses an online survey to examine the choice of study, study preparation and study entry. Anyone interested can register for free participation in the workshops and the study.
