Cologne team participates in exclusive international case competition

Sofaer International Strategic Case Competition (SICC) 2016

Case Competition Tel Aviv

For the second time, a team from the WiSo Faculty was selected to participate in the prestigious Sofaer International Strategic Case Competition (SICC) of the Tel Aviv University, Coller School of Management, Israel, which is also one of the WiSo Faculty’s partner universities.
The SICC is an annual case competition on an Israeli company operating in markets abroad. This year’s topic was ‘Foresight’, an Israeli high-tech company that is developing leading technology in the area of ADAS – Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
Every year, the event brings together 8 global teams from leading business schools worldwide to compete alongside one local team. In 2016, prestigious schools such as the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge (UK), HKUST Business School (Hong Kong) or the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto (Canada) participated in the competition.

This year, Johannes Fühner, Lars Brockmeier and Fabian Lorson, three CEMS Master’s in Management students as well as Maximilian Preuß, a student of the BSc Business Administration, represented the Cologne WiSo Faculty. All of them are current or former members of the Cologne student initiative ‘Case Study Course e.V’. Niklas Hinkel from the Institute of Energy Economics (EWI) / Cologne Graduate School joined the group as academic supervising member.
We would like to highlight our MSc/BSc team’s successful performance alongside the other 8 international MBA teams and congratulate the winning team from the Rotman School of Management!
