CMR and FiFo hosted the 5th workshop of the DFG-priority programme 1578

"Financial Market Imperfections and Macroeconomic Performance"

Professor Dr. Andreas Schabert from the Center for Macroeconomic Research (CMR) at the University of Cologne hosted in cooperation with the FiFo Institute for Public Economics at the University of Cologne the 5th workshop of the DFG-priority programme 1578 "Financial Market Imperfections and Macroeconomic Performance". At the two-day session in the conference rooms of the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, lectures on the current research findings of the priority programme were the centre of attention.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) as the main organization for the support of research projects at German universities and public research institutes promotes national inter-university collaborative research projects with its priority programmes.

The main objective of the priority programme 1578 "Financial Market Imperfections and Macroeconomic Performance" is to drive forward the German research in the border region between macroeconomics and finance. The individual research projects deal with influences from frictions in the financial market, macroeconomic volatility, and long-term growth.
