We all are confronted daily with risks and statements about probabilities like precipitation forecasts, hit rate in lottery numbers and important medical decisions. But how do you interpret this information to be correct and how can you make good decisions, building on this? We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Gerd Gigerenzer (Director at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and the 2009 established Harding Center for Risk Literacy in Berlin), an internationally renowned expert in this field, at the University of Cologne on 19th May, 2015. In his public evening lecture he will go around the right understanding as well as dealing with risks. The following discussion provides space for questions and dialogue with the audience.
