Seminargebäude - Universitätsstr. 37 - Room S 11
Public event - Admission free - In German

More than 50,000 work at the United Nations. But what does it mean to work for this unique organisation? What are the challenges, what are the appeals? What does a typical career look like and how do employees distinguish themselves? And how does one gain a foothold in the UN?

Dr. Ekkehard Griep, former consultant of the Consulting UN Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations and author of „We are the UN. Germans at the United Nations“, interviewed more than 40 current and former employees about their experiences. Together with one of his interviewees, Arne Molfenter (Head of UN Regional Information Center in Bonn), he will discuss his experiences, the current situation and future of the UN as an employer. The discussion will be moderated by Sylvia Sabarth (Cologne MUN Society).
