English Interview Seminar - Taking control over your interview

Participants get a good overview of the different types of interview situations they could be faced with. Using competency-based interviewing techniques and the STAR (Situation, Task, Activity and Result) method students are introduced to a toolbox enabling them to prepare their own strengths. The course is interactive and participative with group work and simulations in order to experience both roles – as an interviewee and interviewer.

Wir alle kennen diesen Satz: „Und, was denken Sie darüber?“ Da werden wir nach unserer ehrlichen Meinung gefragt und plötzlich wissen wir nicht mehr, wie wir diese „verpacken“ sollen. Oder: Wir bekommen eine Rückmeldung und ärgern uns tagelang darüber. Um den souveränen Umgang mit solchen Situationen geht es in unserem Seminar– egal, ob im Job, an der Uni oder im Alltag.

Die Nightline Köln e.V. ist ein Angebot von Studierenden an alle Studierenden der Kölner Universitäten und Hochschulen. Hier können die Anrufer*innen über alles sprechen, was ihnen Kummer bereitet, sei es Stress im Studium oder Sorgen des Alltags, Prüfungsangst, Geldprobleme oder Streit in der Beziehung. Dabei gelten für uns von der Nightline diese Regeln:

• Alles, worüber gesprochen wird, wird vertraulich behandelt. Prinzipien der Nightline sind Verschwiegenheit und Anonymität. Dabei arbeiten wir vorurteils- und wertungsfrei.
• Wir geben keine psychologische Beratung, denn dafür sind wir nicht ausgebildet. Wir hören zu und versuchen bei Bedarf, geeignete Institutionen oder Einrichtungen für weitere Hilfe zu nennen.

Was erwartet dich? Als zukünftiger Nightliner wirst du etwa sechs bis acht Abende pro Semester im Telefondienst tätig sein, jeweils immer zusammen mit einem Partner/-in. Zudem erklärst du dich durch deine Mitarbeit dazu bereit, dich in einer unserer Arbeitsgruppen wie z. B. dem Technik-, PR-, Bewerberteam etc. zu engagieren.
Dabei wirst du nicht einfach ins kalte Wasser geschmissen, sondern lernst an zwei Schulungen die Grundlagen unserer Gesprächstechnik.
Termine für die kommenden Schulungen sind am 06.-07. und 12.-14. Mai 2017.

Nachwuchswissenschaftler_innen und fortgeschrittene Studierende mit Kind/ern können sich ab sofort wieder für die Teilnahme am Career Family Coaching (CFC) bewerben. Das einjährige Programm zur Vereinbarung von Familienaufgaben, dem Arbeitsalltag bzw. dem Studium und der Karriere startet im September 2017 und kann von den Teilnehmenden über optionale Bausteine individuell auf die eigenen Bedürfnisse zugeschnitten werden.

Das Kernprogramm besteht aus Workshops zu den Themen Stressmanagement, Karriereplanung und Netzwerken für Eltern sowie dem Austausch mit Gleichgesinnten in Support-Groups. Optional kann das Programm um ein individuelles oder Mehrpersonen-Coaching sowie ein One-to-One-Mentoring ergänzt werden.

Recently the question whether we can integrate sustainability into our business models and our economy in general has become absolutely essential. The members of oikos Cologne are confident that there are multiple answers to this question.

In our sustainable fashion team we host cinema showings, discussions with fashion producers and do our own sewing-workshops. In the past semester our mobility team has thoroughly discussed the question „how should a sustainable way of mobility look like?“ and we are currently organising the oikos mobility day on the 28th April at our university. Last but not least, we have a strong focus on plural economics and we are very proud to host our own lecture series this semester.
On top of that, we are regularly visiting international meetings in the whole world facilitated by our umbrella organisation oikos international.
 
Do you have your own idea how sustainability should be integrated into our economy? Or would you just like to get together with us with a couple of organic beers or lemonades?
Then you should definitly visit our introduction evening on Wednesday, 26th april at 19:30h in room S 22 in the seminar building!

The nkg (network of Health Economists in Cologne) offers some interesting events for health economics students. The first event is the evening of health economics on 04.05.17 at 19:30. Former students will talk about their careers and answer questions. During the semester more events will follow; e.g. a field trip (13.06. to BfArM), a lecture about studying abroad as a health economics student 818.07.) and a barbeque (04.07.).
