Registration for “Business English” and “English for the Social Sciences” language courses available to students of the WiSo faculty starts on 19.06.2017. Places are limited and allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Before being admitted to a course, you will need to take a placement test to evaluate your current English language proficiency. Please see our homepage for further information.

Bachelor’s students (excluding those studying Lehramt BK1) have the possibility to obtain 6 ECTS within the module Studium Integrale on successful completion and passing of the course.

The summer school “Indian economy, business and culture system” offered by the Centre for Modern Indian Studies takes place from 3 – 15 September 2017 at the Symbiosis International University in Pune, India.
In addition to the lectures, several companies and institutions will be visited to combine theory with practice.
Part of the travel expenses (550 Euro) are funded by the German Academic Exchange Service through the Federal Ministry for Education and Research via the scholarship „A New Passage to India“. The programme fee to be paid by the participants is 500 Euro and includes accommodation, breakfast and lunch.

You are interested in an intercultural study experience and would like to earn up to 12 CP during the summer break? Become a part of CISU 2017! CISU takes place from 7-31 August (Session 1: 7-17 August, Session 2: 21-31 August). Participation is free for all students enrolled at the WiSo Faculty.

All courses are part of the regular curriculum and comprise offers for students of management and economics. For MSc students, the following courses are available:

Credited towards: Basismodul Experimental Methods

Would you like to make new friends this summer? All students at the WiSo Faculty have the opportunity to participate in a Buddy Programme in August 2017 for international students taking part in our summer school CISU. We are currently looking for WiSo students who welcome them and offer initial guidance at the University of Cologne. If you are interested, you can be a buddy for one or even up to three international students in August. Your tasks would be the following:

-    Establishing contact with your protégée and welcoming them in the name of the WiSo Faculty (via email)
-    Awaiting the student(s) on the day of their arrival at the airport/train station, if need be accompanying them to their accommodation
-    Support in further curricular or extracurricular activities

A bilateral encounter of this nature will give you the chance to improve your language skills, exchange ideas interculturally and broaden your horizon. You will also receive a certificate for your social commitment.

Der CAMPUS StartUp-Day bietet eine gute Möglichkeit, neue MitstreiterInnen für sein eigenes StartUp zu finden, oder als InteressentIn bei einer Gründung einzusteigen. Zudem erfahrt Ihr viel Wissenswertes über Erfahrungen anderer GründerInnen mit dem Aufbau eines Start-ups. Bei der „Out of the Box Marketing Challenge” der digitisation GmbH könnt Ihr am 30. Juni und 1. Juli Eure außergewöhnlichen Marketing-Ideen ausarbeiten und präsentieren. Für Räumlichkeiten, Material, fachkundige Coaches und das leibliche Wohl ist gesorgt.
 
Meldet Euch bis zum 22. Juni mit einem Team von 3-4 Personen an, indem Ihr unter eventsdigitisation.de erzählt, wieso Ihr dabei sein wollt und wie Ihr Euch Marketing in der Digitalisierungsbranche vorstellt. Hilfreich wäre es, wenn Ihr Euer Team auf max. 1 Seite kurz vorstellt.

Meldet euch für einen unserer Workshops an, um aus der Lieblingsbluse eurer Oma coole Sommershorts (nur für Frauen ;) ) oder einen praktischen Beutel zu nähen! Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich, das nötige Material wird von uns gestellt. Bringt aber gerne abgelegte Hemden oder Blusen mit, die ihr verwerten wollt! Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 9€, inbegriffen ist abgesehen vom Workshop auch noch ein informativer und leckerer Mittagssnack. Wir freuen uns auf euch!
