Going international – Praktika im Ausland vorgestellt vom ZIB und AIESEC

„Auslandspraktika erwünscht“, heißt es in vielen Stellen -und Praktikumsausschreibungen. Für viele Unternehmen und Studierende gehört heutzutage mindestens ein Auslandsaufenthalt, gerne auch ein  Auslandspraktikum während des Studiums zum Standardprogramm. Am ersten Career Tuesday des Wintersemesters 2017/2018 haben Studierende die Gelegenheit durch Präsentationen des ZIB (Zentrum für Internationale Beziehungen) der Fakultät und von der studentischen Initiative AIESEC relevante Informationen zu Auslandspraktika zu erhalten.

Seminar "Application (at NGOs) by Teach First social commitment as kickstart for your career"

Liebe Studierende,

ihr könnt Euch noch bis zum 13.10 für unser Seminar über die Karrieredatenbank anmelden.

In diesem Seminar bekommen Sie Einblicke in die dos and don'ts bei Bewerbungen. Einen speziellen Fokus werden wir auf Bewerbungen bei NGO's und Sozialunternehmen legen - dies ist aber auch auf andere Unternehmen übertragbar. Anhand der Bildungsorganisation Teach First Deutschland werden Sie lernen, worauf es bei Lebensläufen, Onlinebewerbungen und (leitfadenbasierten) Interviews ankommt. Zudem gibt es die Möglichkeit Lebensläufe vor Ort zu besprechen und an den sozialen Sektor anzupassen.

MTP Cologne Info Event on October 17th

You have become curious about MTP through our semester start campaign? You think you and MTP could match well? You want more?
Then come to our info event on October 17th at 7:30 pm in room S21 in the seminar building of the University of Cologne!
In a comfortable atmosphere you will get some drinks and snacks and all the important information about MTP Cologne. Among other things, we will introduce you to what we have planned for the summer semester and how you can contribute. The event will be held in German.

The non-profit MTP e.V. – marketing between theory and practice – was founded in 1981 as a student initiative to provide practical experience in the field of marketing at universities. Today we consider ourselves the largest cross-generational network of students, professionals, companies and academics. For that reason more than 3,500 honorary members are involved in 18 university locations and 18 alumni clubs. We are sponsored and supported by around 90 professors from the most renowned marketing profesorial chairs and by more than 90 regional partner companies.

Lutz Kilian will present some of his research on the relation between oil prices and the US economy, developed in papers jointly written with Christiane Baumeister and Xiaoqing Zhou. In these papers, Kilian and his coauthors analyze why the massive and unexpected decline of the oil prices between 2014 and 2016 did not have a strong economic impact and they relate their findings to similar periods in recent decades.

Lutz Kilian is Professor at the University of Michigan, where he is a faculty member of the Department of Economics. His research focuses on empirical macroeconomics, international finance, time series econometrics and energy economics, with a special emphasis on oil prices and their transmission, fluctuations & forecasting.
