Double Master's Programme in Business Administration: Cologne–Warsaw

The Warsaw School of Economics (Szkola Glówna Handlowa Warszawie, SGH) was founded in 1906 as the first public university for economics and management in Poland.

Facts & figures

  • 16,000 students at bachelor's, master's and PhD levels
  • Nearly 1,000 faculty members
  • More than 150 partner universities worldwide
  • Throughout the 20th century, every third economist in Poland was a SGH graduate
  • Highest rank of all Central and Eastern European management programmes by the Financial Times
  • First rank among economic schools in all surveys of Poland’s higher education institutions

The Double Master’s Programme offered by the University of Cologne and Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) examines the increasing economic and political importance of Central and Eastern European countries. As Poland is the largest of the Central and Eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004 and a key player in the heart of Europe, it was an obvious choice for the University of Cologne to strengthen its academic ties with Poland’s pre-eminent business school. With its focus on academic training in international business, the programme is tailored for highly qualified and motivated students that wish to enhance their language skills and intercultural understanding.

Programme structure

Students selected for the Double Master’s in Business Administration complete their first year at the University of Cologne and their second year at the Warsaw School of Economics.
