  • More than 150 partner universities worldwide
  • Throughout the 20th century, every third economist in Poland was a SGH graduate
  • Highest rank of all Central & Eastern European management programmes by the "Financial Times"
  • First rank among economic schools in all surveys of Poland's higher education

The Double Masters Programme of the University of Cologne in cooperation with the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) considers the increasing economic and political importance of Europe's middle and Eastern countries. As Poland is the biggest of the middle and Eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004 and a key-player in the heart of Europe, it was a quite natural choice to deepen the academic cooperation with Poland's most preeminent business school. With its focus on a thorough academic training in international business, the programme is tailored for highly qualified and motivated students who wish to enhance their language skills and well as their intercultural competence.

Programme Structure

Students selected in Cologne for the Double Masters in Business Administration study their first year at the University of Cologne and their second year at the Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw.

The students can choose one of the five majors available at the University of Cologne (Corporate Development, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management) and one of the areas of specialisation of the Warsaw School of Economics (Management or International Business).

The students follow a study path integrated into the regular course offer of both universities, as shown in the figure below.

The programme, which can be entirely studied in English, is based on a mutual recognition of the credits obtained at the partner university. The Masters thesis is supervised by both universities. The credit transfer is explained in the figure below.

After the successful accomplishment of the joined study programme, students are awarded the Master of Science in Business Administration by the University of Cologne as well as the Master of Science in International Business or the Master of Science in Management of the Warsaw School of Management.

For detailed information about the course offer and the Masters thesis please read the information in the section "Information for students" on the upper right side or check the websites of the Warsaw School of Economics and of the Cologne WiSo Faculty.
