International Networks
The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo Faculty) has long been actively involved in a number of top-class international university and company networks. These networks permit the WiSo Faculty to
- exchange information with university-level institutions around the world about new trends and developments in the economic sciences
- offer numerous opportunities to students and teachers for the internationalization of their studies and academic careers
- gain insights into best-practice standards for management training and company-university cooperation arrangements
Overview of the WiSo Faculty’s Network Memberships:
CEMS – Global Alliance in Management Education
CEMS – the Global Alliance in Management Education (formerly: Community of European Management Schools) is a network consisting of 25 leading management schools and economics faculties across the globe as well as 60 international corporations (CEMS Corporate Partners), all of whom have joined forces to develop and teach the courses offered under the CEMS Master’s in International Management (CEMS MIM). The University of Cologne is a founding member of the network established in 1988 and the only German member within the CEMS Alliance.
PIM – Partnership in International Management
The PIM network is a consortium of 57 leading business schools worldwide and serves as a platform for international collaborations. The Cologne WiSo Faculty is the sole German member of PIM.
EFMD - The European Foundation for Management Development
EFMD is an international organization comprising over 650 members in 75 countries who come from academia, the business community, the public sector and consultancy. Together, they constitute a unique forum for the exchange of information and networking, as well as for research and discussion with regard to innovations and best practices in management.
AACSB – The Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
AACSB International is an association of university-level institutions, companies and organizations devoted to the advancement of academic education in management and business administration. A major offer of AACSB International is the accreditation of business schools worldwide at bachelor and master’s degree level.
AAPBS – Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools
AAPBS affiliates a host of first-class business schools under its roof on a global scale, their prime aim being to promote the quality of academic management training in the Asia-Pacific region.
EDAMBA - European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration
EDAMBA strives to foster cooperation among doctoral programmes in the economic sciences by way of an information network, to support research collaborations and to enhance the quality of doctoral dissertations. A further priority is its annual summer school for doctoral students.
European Network of Erasmus Coordinators in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration and Management
The network links up over 70 European universities to promote student and lecturer exchanges in the political and administrative sciences.
