The Faculty's international profile

Internationalization is a major concern at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo Faculty) of Cologne University. That is why its international relations and study offers have been developed far beyond what is usual at other German universities.
The strong focus on internationalization permeates all Faculty levels:
The Cologne WiSo Faculty is the sole German university member of the internationally renowned networks
PIM (Partnership in International Management) and
CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education).
Partnerships with first-class universities around the globe are the basis for manifold international activities as well as for an attractive portfolio of international study and exchange programmes. Targeted offers for international students round off the Faculty’s sweeping agenda.
The WiSo Faculty also attaches much importance to offering Cologne students international experience as a vital component of their studies. Apart from semester-long stays abroad, which can be integrated in the curriculum, international short-term programmes and summer schools afford insights into other cultures and teaching methods.
Students interested in a more extensive international alignment of their studies can opt for the WiSo Faculty’s Double Master’s Programme in Business Administration and Political Sciences, along with the international supplementary degree “CEMS Master’s in International Management”.
Beyond that, the WiSo Faculty focuses on “internationalization at home”, featuring a broad English-language course offer, international visiting lecturers and work on internationally oriented themes.
International research collaborations, exchanges at doctorand level and cooperation arrangements with international companies constitute an additional pillar of our successful strategy.
Not least of all, internationalization at the WiSo Faculty is embodied in its International Relations Center (ZIB-WiSo). The Faculty was one of the first in Germany to adopt such a new concept at faculty level, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) even awarded ZIB-WiSo the Prize of the German Foreign Office for its “excellent services on behalf of international students”.
