Economics

The study of Economics comes under the economic sciences and deals with conditions and processes in entire political economies, such as national states.

The point of departure for all contemplation is the assumption that the factors of production with which economies generate their goods and services (e.g. workforce, capital or material) are not available on an unlimited scale. In using these resources, economies must therefore seek to operate at optimum conditions to achieve their objectives.

The bachelor's program in Economics prepares you to solve these problems most effectively.

Perspectives

The Bachelor programme in Economics conveys core competencies that can be applied to a variety of activities in economic life. In particular, students acquire knowledge of economic and formal methodologies for the analysis of micro- and macroeconomic issues prevailing in modern national economies. This specific methodological competence distinguishes graduates of Economics from those of other branches of study.

Depending on your personal priorities, you can profit from a wide array of career prospects at home and abroad, in private and public corporations, foundations, trade unions, associations and chambers. Whatever you decide on, we will support your ambitions, for example through the WiSo Career Service.
